Dishwasher Faults and Repairs 2 of 3

There’s still water in the Dishwasher!

Don’t shout ‘Yes there’s supposed to be!!’ We mean the dishwasher isn’t draining.

There are a few simple checks you can do to see if you can fix the problem before you need to call out the Appliance Force team.

Make sure the dishwasher is switched on and has run it’s full cycle, has there been a power cut, has it been accidently switched off? It may be a simple task of allowing the dishwasher to run its cycle.

If it has:

  1. Turn off the dishwasher off at the mains.
  2. Clean the Filters (we recommend this is done on a regular basis, see General Dishwasher care and maintenance).
The filters are located at the bottom of the dishwasher, check your manufacturers instruction manual if you are unsure. You will need to remove or slide out the basket to access the filters. Simply clean then as per the manufacturers instructions. The dishwasher filter is designed to catch the unwanted bits of food and grease, so remove any blockage here. Make sure both the inner filters and the outer filters are cleaned with hot water.
  3. Check the dishwasher waste hose.
This is located at the back of the dishwasher. Simply check for any blockages and make sure the hose is free to allow the water to drain. Be sure the hose isn’t squashed when the dishwasher is pushed back into place.
  4. Check the pipes on the sink waste.
It’s all connected, so a blockage caused elsewhere could back up and cause the symptoms in the dishwasher.

If you’ve completed all these checks and still have a dishwasher full of water. Time to call one of our approved engineers on 01268 756 276.
